We are not a factory generating dozens of the same costume. From start to finish, you will work face-to-face with the person designing and constructing your custom costume. Bring your inspiration, ideas, and special requests to us and we’ll help create the costume of your dreams. Before Requesting a Commission

Read our commission information and FAQs to make sure Diana Tutus is right for you. Then, fill out the Custom Request Form found below or on our contact page.

Initial Call

Assuming we can fit your request into the schedule, we will talk with you more thoroughly about your design, your expectations, the timeline, and your needs. After this, you will receive an approximate quote.

Design Meeting

Our first meeting! You browse options for fabric, trim, crystals, and more in person. We will take detailed measurements at this time to begin the construction process. After this, we will be able to finalize the quote and send you the invoice for the 50% deposit.

Fitting #1

You come back for a toile fitting. We check the fit of the pattern and make necessary adjustments before actual construction begins.

Fitting #2

Once most of the construction is done, you come back for a fitting to check on the progress. We can also finalize any minor undecided design details at this time.

Final Fitting(s)/Pick Up

If more fittings are required, we will make any necessary changes to get your costume to the perfect place. If not, your costume will be ready to go home! Final payment is due before or upon pickup.

What to Know

Location

We live and work out of the Metro Atlanta area. At the moment, we do NOT ship! This may change in the distant future, but at the moment we find in-person fitting best suits everyone’s needs. If you are willing to travel, we can do our best to accomodate!

Cost

A professional ballet costume is an investment, and we’re aware of that. If you have a specific budget, please include that in your rental request form. There is no guarantee that it can be accomodated, but we can certainly recommend options within it if possible.

Design

All costumes are sewed by hand and from scratch, which means complete customization opportunities. From layers of net in a tutu to personalized embroidery, almost anything is possible. We primarily construct traditional costumes in non-stretch fabrics.

Custom Costume FAQs

Prices vary depending on costume type and intricacy of design. While a men’s jacket could be around $800, a classical tutu might be over $2,000. If you have a budget, please let us know in the inquiry form. After we have spoken with you about the costume and settled on a design, we will provide a quote for the final costume. Pricing is always upfront and decided before work begins.
After we have spoken with you about your needs and settled on a design, we will provide a quote for the final costume. In order to proceed with the comission, we require a 50% desposit of the final amount. The final amount is due at the time of delivery.
Every custom costume requires a minimum notice of three months. It is best practice to reach out as soon as you know you will need a costume, since more time is always better. Individual timelines vary depending on project complexity.
At the moment, Diana Tutus only serves the metro Atlanta, GA area and does not ship. Ballet costumes, particularly tutus, require numerous fittings to get perfect and we want nothing less than perfection.
Yes! Although they come with additional costs, items like headpieces, tiaras, tutu bags, and jewelery are commonly added to commissions.
You can be involved in the creative decisions as much or as little as you like. After hearing about your inspirations and color preferences, we will put together some options with various fabrics, trims, and appliques for you to choose from. We will work together to come up with the right design for you!
